Chinese Visa Fees by Nationality
A Chinese visa costs a consular fee that depends on nationality plus the service fee of the visa centre. Most nationalities pay a reduced consular fee until the end of 2026; United States citizens pay a flat 140 US dollars for any visa type and validity.

The fee reduction
A 25 % reduction of consular fees for most nationalities, introduced in 2023, has been extended to 31 December 2026.
Service and processing fees
- CVASC service fee per application, set per country (commonly the equivalent of 25–70 US dollars)
- Express (2–3 working days) and rush (1 working day) surcharges
- Optional courier return of the passport
Good to know
- Fees are paid at submission; consular fees are not refunded if the visa is refused.
- Fees for one nationality applying in another country follow the applicant's nationality, not the place of application.
