CHINAPLAS is Asia's largest plastics and rubber trade fair and the second largest in the world after K in Düsseldorf: held each April, alternating between Shanghai and Shenzhen, it brings together injection-moulding and extrusion machinery, polymers and additives, recycling technology and the Chinese processing industry with buyers from across Asia.

About the fair
Organised by Hong Kong-based Adsale since 1983, CHINAPLAS has grown with China's plastics industry into a fair of some 4,000 exhibitors and a quarter of a million visitors. It alternates between the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai in even years and the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in odd years, each time in April.
The show covers the whole chain: injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding machinery, auxiliary equipment, moulds, raw materials from commodity resins to engineering plastics and bioplastics, additives and masterbatches, and, increasingly, recycling and circular-economy technology. Themed zones address automotive, packaging, medical, electronics and construction applications.
Exhibitors include the large Chinese machinery makers (Haitian, Yizumi, Chen Hsong), the international machinery and materials groups, and hundreds of component and material suppliers. Visitors are processors and converters, brand owners and distributors from China, Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.
The fair is a technical event with conference programmes on sustainability, design and Industry 4.0; buyers come with specifications and leave with quotations for machine lines.
Pre-registration gives a visitor badge; overseas visitors receive invitation letters through the organiser.
Visiting
- Check the city for the year: Shanghai (NECC Hongqiao) in even years, Shenzhen (Shenzhen World, Bao'an) in odd years
- Pre-register online for a badge and, if needed, an invitation letter for a business visa
- Halls are organised by product category — plan machinery and materials days separately
- Shanghai's NECC is beside Hongqiao station and airport; Shenzhen World is near Bao'an airport with Metro Line 20
- Machinery buyers should arrange factory visits in Ningbo (Shanghai years) or the Pearl River Delta (Shenzhen years)
