China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF)

Organised by Reed Sinopharm, a joint venture of RX and the state pharmaceutical group Sinopharm, CMEF has run since 1979 and reached its 93rd edition in spring 2026. The spring fair in Shanghai is the larger; the autumn fair rotates between cities and is in Beijing in October 2026.

Exhibitors range from the Chinese imaging and diagnostics groups — Mindray, United Imaging, Wondfo and others — to Siemens Healthineers, GE HealthCare, Philips and hundreds of component and consumable suppliers. Zones cover imaging, IVD, surgical, hospital construction, rehabilitation, home care and the ICMD component show alongside.

Visitors are hospital procurement teams, distributors, provincial health authorities and international buyers, especially from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, where Chinese equipment has taken share on price.

For foreign producers CMEF is the fair at which to meet Chinese distributors and to understand NMPA registration requirements; for buyers of Chinese equipment it is the place to compare makers and to check certifications (NMPA, CE, FDA).

Registration is by professional pre-registration; invitation letters are issued for visa purposes.
