China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF)

The China Hi-Tech Fair is the state's technology fair in Shenzhen: every November since 1999 it shows the output of Chinese research institutes, technology companies and provincial innovation programmes — robotics, semiconductors, AI, new energy, advanced materials — to investors, buyers and government delegations, with foreign country pavilions and a large start-up section.

About the fair
CHTF was founded in 1999 by central ministries and the Shenzhen government as a technology-transfer and trade fair; it moved to the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao'an in 2023 and reached its 27th edition in November 2025. It is less a sourcing fair than a showcase of Chinese technology policy: provincial pavilions present programmes, universities and institutes present research for commercialisation, and companies present products.
Sectors follow the government's priorities: integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, robotics and intelligent manufacturing, new energy and storage, low-altitude economy (drones and eVTOL), biotech, new materials and digital infrastructure. Shenzhen's own companies — Huawei, Tencent, BYD, DJI, Mindray and thousands of hardware start-ups — anchor the exhibition.
Foreign participation comes through national pavilions and delegations; investors and technology buyers attend for partnering, licensing and investment meetings organised by the fair.
The fair coincides with the Shenzhen technology calendar and with Guangdong's autumn fair season; buyers of electronics combine it with factory visits in Shenzhen and Dongguan.
Registration is by professional pre-registration; the organiser issues invitation letters.
